SYNOPSIS
Six women and two men who speak about their motives, their fears and their hopes. Four experts who contribute their experiences from different perspectives. A Poetry Slammer who expresses the thoughts and feelings of many of those affected in the staccato of her words. A film that neither teaches nor judges. A documentary that breaks the silence.
“LASS UNS REDEN” (LET US TALK) is an innovative film project from Performance Picture Entertainment OG in cooperation with SaveOne Europe in Vienna. Director Tamás Kiss together with Composer Christian Heschl, Poetry Slammer Adina Wilcke and a team of artists, dared to tackle a taboo subject and to give it impressive expression through those affected. The documentary film for the German-speaking world with eight personal accounts of women and men. With the different outcomes, experiences, possible effects (for example, after an abortion) and how they dealt with them. What were the reactions from outside and how do those affected deal with bringing a child into the world who is not wanted by their environment? Four experts analyse the problem.
This film is a documentary for the German-speaking world with English subtitles featuring 8 personal life stories from women and men on the matter of crisis pregnancies, with their different outcomes, experiences, possible effects (e.g. consequences after abortion) and the processing. What were the reactions from those around us and how do you deal with giving birth to a child who is not wanted by the society or the circumstances? The contributions of the 4 specialists underpin their experiences.
What does it mean to speak about something so conflict led and controversial like abortion?
How can we pose questions that nobody cares to ask and at the same time bring hope?
The poetry slammer Adina Wilcke slips into the role of a young pregnant woman facing the difficult decision – should I keep the child or not?
The film is not to indoctrinate or be judgmental, it is an invitation to engage in this discourse, break the silence on taboo subjects of our society and draw your own conclusions. It takes a lot of courage to talk about such real issues of life, as there are an estimated 35,000 abortions per year in Austria. It needs good advice and adequate time to reach such important decisions. After all, it is about all the mothers, the affected children, our families and thus all of us!
It takes a lot of courage to talk about the real questions of life, as there are an estimated 35,000 abortions per year in Austria.

Artistic Approach
With Poetry Slammer Adina Wilcke as the spokeswoman for the film, the Director Tamás Kiss wants to break new ground with someone who has the gift to perform her monologue in a truly poetic but also fully natural way. Good poetry also engages those watching and draws their feelings into the topics.
We especially want to engage with the young generation and invite them to an inner discourse with themselves. This requires a fresh, authentic approach, and we are convinced that the chosen artistic concept reflects the pulse of the times.
Furthermore, this film is intentionally structured so that we can present individual elements in an attractive manner though social media channels. In this way specific statements from the interview partners or parts of the monologue bring attention to the whole film.

Press Reviews
“And this year it was the young student Adina Wilcke with her piece” Diagnosis Lung Cancer “, who was very happy about her victory. … A somewhat dramatic but nevertheless amusing and imaginative piece, which the actors also liked the best and thus also won the first “Actors Choice” award, in the form of a home distilled bottle of Schnapps from Jimi Lend. “
The KLEINKUNST Vienna | Austria
“… the newcomer Adina (from Vienna) spoke about human trafficking from the perspective of a girl who experienced it. You could almost have heard a pin drop in the hall. Responding to the concluding statement of this Viennese woman “The human being is a human being, is a human being”, the audience reacted very enthusiastically … “
